NCLR President Janet Murguía To Speak At Southwest Key
On Friday, September 28, National Council of La Raza (NCLR) President & CEO Janet Murguía will speak at a luncheon hosted by NCLR Texas affiliates at Southwest Key’s national headquarters in Austin. The luncheon is part of the NCLR Texas Affiliate Regional Fall Convening.
Murguía has held the lead position at NCLR since 2005 where she has placed an emphasis on strengthening the relationship with NCLR’s network of nearly 300 community-based organizations that serve millions of people annually. She has also focused on strengthening NCLR’s relationships with its sister civil rights and advocacy organizations, spearheading efforts to build bridges between the African American and Latino communities in conjunction with organizations such as the NAACP and the National Urban League. She was the first Hispanic leader to give the keynote speech at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast in Birmingham, Alabama.
During this 12:00 PM luncheon to raise funds for NCLR’s Texas Affiliates, attendees will discuss NCLR’s national strategy, the upcoming election cycle, and Texas’ role in NCLR’s vision for the future. Individual seats are $25 and sponsorship tables range from $500 to $1500 and include a VIP reception with Murguía before the luncheon.
