EAPrep Mom Yolanda Saldaña Talks About Why She Loves Academia De Padres

One of the things parents of East Austin College Prep students love is the school’s Academia de Padres, or Parent Academy, which teaches parents how to advocate for themselves and their kids through the education process. Take Yolanda Saldaña whose daughter Naomi Padilla is in the 7th grade at EAPrep. In the above video interview, Yolanda shares that she only attended school through the 8th grade, and that she never got involved with her older daughter’s education at another school. But, at EAPrep, Yolanda says, the teachers make her feel included by continually following up and encouraging her to be involved. Now, Yolanda says Naomi has been places and accomplished things that Yolanda never could have. “Here, failure is not an option,” Yolanda says of EAPrep. “I love that quote and I always repeat it to her. We don’t give up. We are not quitters. I love this school.”
